Moviclav-625 Tablets is a combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid, a powerful broad-spectrum antibiotic formulation used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria and preventing them from developing resistance.

This formulation is particularly effective against infections caused by β-lactamase–producing bacteria, which are resistant to ordinary penicillin antibiotics.

Mechanism of Action

• Amoxycillin: A semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
• Clavulanic Acid: A β-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial enzymes from inactivating amoxycillin, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum.

Together, they form a synergistic combination that effectively treats infections resistant to amoxycillin alone.

Moviclav-625 is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections such as:

Dosage and Administration

• Usual Adult Dose: One tablet every 8 or 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection.
• Route: Oral
• Dosage to be determined by the physician based on the patient’s condition, age, and infection type.
• Tablets should be taken after food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:
